sustainability
Waterless formula
A waterless formula that not only gives you more potent actives but also has environmental and sustainability benefits. Water is a finite resource; our dry formulas help do their part in the water scarcity crisis, which has become a major ecological concern. Learn More.
Supply Chain
We use certified organic and fair trade sugar cane sourced from Sao Paulo that is manufactured on self-sufficient mills that are run through the energy burnt by sugarcane bagasse, making it carbon neutral.
Our jojoba oil is the purest and most ethically grown and harvested in the world! Taking sustainability to that next level, our supplier harnesses the power of renewable energy, both solar and utilising discarded waste, uses reclaimed water through drip irrigation on non-arable land, reuses jojoba pulp to fertilise yields and protects biodiversity by maintaining wild types of jojoba plantations. Palm Free
The production of palm oil contributes to destroying the habitats of endangered animals through rapid deforestation and we're just not about that. This large-scale destruction of rainforests is also releasing significant quantities of carbon pollution into the atmosphere, making palm oil a major global driver of human-induced climate change. Packaging
Our lip balm packaging is twist-up for your convenience. The packaging uses Kraft paper and soya ink on the outer and recyclable PP + ABS. BPA Free Plastic on the inner. The Chai Lip Scrub is packaged in aluminium using biodegradable tamper seals made from Celon, a plant-based fibre.
FAQs
Will my lip balm melt in the heat?
Yep, it can. Depending on your climate or where you leave your lip balm (i.e. car, beach) it can melt in extreme temperatures or become soft. Never fear, it will become solid and stabilize once your balm is back to normal temperature.
shelf life + storage
Our Butt Naked Lip Care range has an unopened shelf life of 18 months. Butt Naked is natural and preservative-free, so our oils are not made to sit on store shelves or in your shower for years and this is why we recommend using your scrubs within 12 months upon opening. And don't forget to store them in a cool dry place and away from direct sunlight.
