hello skinfood lovers,

Patrizia here, director, founder and product tester of Butt Naked. (Ohh and Hunter my dingo as my smiley sidekick) I thought I’d quickly take the time to explain to you all how proud we are as a skincare brand to be both completely cruelty-free and very vegan.

we are certified a cruelty-free company by Cruelty Free International.

Myself and Butt Naked do not believe in animal testing for beauty, for fashion, or for sport. We are also passionate about helping our 4 legged fur babies, that's why we donate 5% of our profits to Melbourne based no-kill animal shelter Save-A-Dog-Scheme.

Butt Naked Body believes that beauty products should be cruelty free. We are proud to be Leaping Bunny approved. A global programme, Leaping Bunny requires cruelty free standards over and above legal requirements.

All of our own brand cosmetic and personal care products are approved under the Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny programme, the internationally recognisable gold standard for cruelty free products. We adhere to a fixed cut-off date policy and proactively monitor our suppliers to ensure that our products continue to adhere to the Leaping Bunny criteria. Our supplier monitoring system is also independently audited.

cruelty-free cruelty-free

always cruelty-free

From a young age, I’ve always hated seeing animals in distress, from the trucks of cattle on the road, to the treatment of animals in tourist destinations around the world and even in the movie Bambi (you know what scene I’m talking about). The welfare of animals has always been something I’m passionate about and it’s super difficult knowing that there are animals being treated unfairly and inhumanely. This is one of the major reasons why Butt Naked has been cruelty-free from the get-go. I also like animals more than humans (my friends will back me up on this claim) so there is no way I would start harming them for the sake of creating skincare, when I knew I could design something awesome in an eco-friendly and compassionate way.

very vegan

Both the environment and its animals have always held a very special place in my heart. My travel bug has seen me visit breathtaking places, but sometimes it’s hard to see how our human footprint can contribute to the destruction of our amazing world. And because I’ve grown up with many fur babies, I hate the thought of hurting or neglecting our four legged friends. So Butt Naked being anything other than vegan was a no brainer, as a brand we want to ensure we do our bit to help prevent the exploitation of animals, and environmentally help decrease the use of fossil fuels and protect rainforests.

So that brings us here. We’re committed to actively sourcing high-quality alternatives to the animal ingredients found in other products and promise to only test our skincare on human butts. I hope I don’t sound preachy, it definitely not my intention, I just want to give you all an honest and real insight into why Butt naked is who we are and why we choose vegan as our way to start changing the planet and all its inhabitants for the better.

Okay, time for me to give my dingo baby some love and attention, he’s a lil’ needy.

Keep it real, keep it clean.
