choosing the right face serum based on your skin type
How, when and why to use a face serum.
How to use a face serum
Use it as the base layer in your routine
To maximise results a face serum should be used once or twice a day after cleansing and toning your skin, under the heavier products in your routine, like moisturisers, sunscreen and makeup.
Dab or pat onto skin
Apply a few drops to your face morning and/or night.
For best results follow up with a face oil while the skin is still damp.
It depends on your skin goals, our serums can be used once or twice a day in the AM and/or PM.
Tips: Apply skin care products from thinnest to thickest. Most serums work best when applied as the first layer, in direct contact with clean skin after you’ve used a cleanser. If the active ingredient is too irritating or drying, you can apply it over another product to create a buffering effect.
What is a face serum?Water based serums are thin-viscosity topical products containing concentrated active ingredients. The larger amount of active molecules can penetrate the skin’s surface for optimum effectiveness. Its higher concentration allows it to take a shorter amount of time to see visible results.
Serums are lighter than moisturisers and oil delivering active ingredients to the skin quickly , application is recommended before moisturisers and oils which help seal the serum to maximise its benefits.
Benefits of adding a serum to your skincare routine

Soothes sensitive skin.

Has the potential to provide more visible results.
The higher concentration of active ingredients may provide more visible results, compared with other types of skin products.
Feels light on your skin.
Due to quick absorption serums don’t feel heavy or greasy.
Water-based products and preservatives
The native extracts used in our serums are produced using filtered rainwater that’s deionised to hospital standards. This not only helps combat water scarcity but helps limit the environmental damage that can be caused by stormwater runoff.
Water-based formulas need a preserving system to maintain the quality and stability.
- We use a COSMOS and ECOCERT certified preservative focusing on safety from production of raw materials to distribution of finished products.
- Promotes using ingredients derived from renewable resources and production and manufacturing processes that are environmentally safe.
